Risks in Life
Honored to share a letter that Ladonne (ex-husband/father to my girls) wrote to his girlfriend before he passed. I found it in a box of things I was going through this past weekend that the girls packed up after his passing in September of 2021. It stopped me in my tracks as looking back there were times over the 31 years he was in my life and 53 years he was on this earth that he did make sense. There were times that he did comfort my pain. There were times that he made me smile. I GET to choose to hold on to the good memories instead of hanging on with the hook to the painful ones.
I choose today to hold in my heart, the good.
Taking Risks in life is important for our growth. I reflect on my own life these past 3 years. I didn’t realize until reading this that I could have taken more Risks, but..chose to stay safe.
Safe is comfort, YES.. but, in reflection is it really if we have regrets?
Sometimes, more times than not…. The Risk is worth it, I encourage you to take the Risk, instead of having the Regrets.
Thank you for reading, and I hope this moves your soul as it has moved mine today.
“There are many ways to change your life and one simple, yet scary choice, we can make is to take Risks. The problem with choosing to take Risks is that most of us are fearful.
I am not.
We all fear rejection, failure, and change. I don’t.
Fear isn’t bad, and neither is Risk.
Risk IS the very thing that can make us feel alive and push us to go outside our comfort zone.
Taking Risk teaches us to grow and explore. By doing that, we test our limits and go beyond what we believe is possible.
I choose to take the Risk on us and open up a whole New World for us to enjoy.
You have to take Risks to succeed.
You have to Risk heartbreak to love.
If you always avoid Risk you are risking missing out on life.
I choose to take the Risk with you, and I hope you do the same.” - LaDonne
What is something that you have wanted to do, wanted to see or even wanted to be? Take the Risk and know that we never Fail when we try. We grow, and we learn.
Go look in the mirror and Choose YOU!
We are all deserving to live a Life in Recovery whatever that may look like for you.
Always remember - We are ALL Recovering from something, or someone from somewhere. -Amy C.
